For all coffee lovers, pope Clement VIII was born in Fano on 24th february 1536 and to him is due the diffusion and the popularity of coffee. It’s told that, being pressured by his advisers to declare coffee as the “bitter invention of satan”, after has tasted it he said “this drink is so delicious that we should cheat the devil by baptizing it “. It’ s not certain whether the pope pronounced or not these exactly words but his name is firmly linked to this beverage. Caffè VIII was born to celebrate and pass on this amazing tradition
